The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Insights Analyst to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing retail data, generating actionable insights, and supporting business decision-making. This role requires expertise in data analysis, visualization (Tableau), and ad-hoc reporting to drive strategic initiatives and optimize retail performance.
Work Location: Its an onsite role located at 67 Alexdon Road, Unit A, North York, ON M3J 2B5
Salary: $60,000 - $65000 PA
Duties and Responsibilities
Departmental Duties
Data Analysis & Insights Generation:
- Analyze sales, inventory, customer behavior, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Develop and deliver actionable insights that support business strategies and improve retail performance.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis to evaluate promotion effectiveness
- Interpret complex data sets and translate them into meaningful business recommendations.
- Create and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports to provide real-time visibility into key business metrics.
- Automate and optimize reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with business teams to design reports that meet stakeholder needs.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis to answer business questions and provide insights on specific challenges.
- Support cross-functional teams, including marketing and operations, with data-driven recommendations.
- Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency.
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategic objectives and data needs.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve data analysis methodologies, reporting tools, and processes.
- Stay updated on retail industry trends, consumer behaviors, and analytics best practices.
- Communication: effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for conveying ideas, collaborating with colleagues, and presenting information clearly.

Education, Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Science
- Proficiency in SQL and database management;
- Strong expertise in Tableau
- Strong SQL skills
- Expert ability in Excel required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in deep dive analysis of retail data (transactional, product, customer level data)
- At least 2 years of experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to concentrate and analyze data for extended periods of time.
- Primarily office-based on-site work environment for increased collaboration and teamwork.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with frequent collaboration across departments.
- Regular use of analytics platforms, dashboards, and business intelligence tools.
- May occasionally require attendance at meetings or presentations outside standard working hours.
- Open office or virtual team setting with regular interaction via video calls, emails, and chat platforms.
