About the Role
The Verein Zukunftshof Rothneusiedl is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional as Project Demo Site Manager for an EU Funded Project (duration 3 years) on Household Water Cycles and Building Material Circularity. The main focus is the project management that integrates circular economy principles into sustainable development, with a particular emphasis on water reuse and innovative building materials. This person will be responsible for the coordination of this pilot onsite and related demonstration activities, fostering network and stakeholder engagement, handling administration and reporting for an effective and efficient realisation towards the project's goals.
About Zukunftshof Rothneusiedl
The Zukunftshof - a bottum-up initiative on the outskirts of Vienna - is an experimental field for urban agriculture, sustainability and urban development for an edible city of Rothneusiedl.
Beside cultural events and educational initatives, we are a real lab for testing sustainable systems with regard to food-water-energy.
The aim is to develop innovative approaches, research the scalability of these topics and integrate them into the development of the climate-neutral model district of Rothneusiedl.
As a central interface between research and practice, the Zukunftshof contributes to sustainable urban development in Vienna with its interdisciplinary network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project management and coordination for the Austrian demo site, including adherence to objectives, schedules and budgets as well as reporting.
- Pilot and demo site: Planning, implementation and operation of a site with focus on water and material cycles as well as integration of nature-based and circular solutions.
- Technical cooperation: Close cooperation with project partners to develop innovative, bio-based building materials and further development of green wall systems for grey water treatment.
- Stakeholder communication: Establishing networks with project team, local stakeholders, authorities and partners.
- Representation & Networking: Representing the Zukunftshof at meetings, onsite-events and maintaining cooperation with EU project partners
- Monitoring & Fieldwork: Carrying out monitoring, data collection and analyses as well as supporting inspections and implementation work on site.
- Contributions to scientific reports and publications
Educational & Professional Background:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Circular Economy, Project Management, or a related field
- Proven track record in contributing or managing funding projects (EU funded)
- ideally experienced in coordinating pilot or demo sites, with a focus on water and building material circularity solutions
- Knowledgeable in accounting, permitting processes and stakeholder communication.
Languages:
- Excellent English skills, written and spoken
- German proficiency for communication with local stakeholders and authorities is required.

Employment Type:
- Hiring limited to project duration (3 years), in part-time (from 20 h/week), hybrid working
- Salary base depends on professional experience, minimum salary with five years of professional experience is EUR 1.650 gross per month (20 hours per week).
- Verein Zukunftshof as Non-Profit Organisation is not subject to a collective labour agreement.
